NASA/GSFC has a requirement for support of the Goddard Space Flight Cetner (GSFC)Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) Instrument Focal Plane Electronics (FPE) for support ofthe System for Image Digitization, Enhancement, Control, and Retrieval (SIDECAR)Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) parts.NASA/GSFC intends to acquire support from Teledyne Imaging Systems (TIS) under a time andmaterials contract type. The vendor, Teledyne Imaging Systems (TIS), has experience withmanufacturing and delivering the SIDECAR ASIC parts and developing and delivering theSIDECAR ASIC software. No other vendor has shown the unique knowledge and expertise tosupport the SIDECAR parts or the SIDECAR software. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. EasternStandard Time (EST) on November 23, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will beevaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis.
