The Office of the Program Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems (CAS) desires information on Course Correcting Fuze (CCF) concepts for the Army’s Precision Area Fires - Initiative (PAF-I) for all calibers of cannon artillery projectiles. CCF refers to course correcting modules compliant with NATO standard fuze form factor. The CCF solution will replace standard fuzes to improve the accuracy and thus effectiveness of conventional artillery munitions. The respondent should provide a Technology Development (TD) program that can demonstrate and produce 1000 units as soon as possible for operational use. The respondent may require waivers to envisioned military requirements for MOFA fuze functions, -45 to +145 F operational, -60 to + 160 F storage, Global positioning System (GPS) Selective Availability Anti Spoofing Module (SAASM), Anti-Jam (A/J) and 20 year storage. The respondent should take advantage to the maximum extent practicable the use of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components to correct the ballistic path of US Army stockpile projectiles to approximately fifty meter (50m) Circular Error Probability (CEP) at all ranges. The proposed solution should be initiated or settable with Enhanced Portable Inductive Fuze Setter (EPIAFS) prior to projectile firing and be compatible with 105mm and 155mm US Army howitzers. Respondents should propose risk mitigation tasks to be executed in parallel with the TD. Risk mitigation tasks shall focus on meeting Military requirements to reduce the risk for MS B and start of System Development & Demonstration (SDD). In addition, the respondent should propose a follow on SDD solution that meets envisioned military requirements for both 105mm and 155mm US Army artillery howitzers and ammunition. Respondents should include information in the areas such as; operational procedures; estimate delivery accuracy as a function of range; and discuss technical challenges including proposed packaging with space claims for all required fuze components. It is required that any CCF information will not significantly impact standard operational procedures, materially impact maximum range nor degrade projectile lethality. Respondents should provide a Unit Cost Model based upon production quantities of 50,000, 100,000 and 500,000. The Government will not facilitize prospective offerors. Any information should be based on self facilitization. All information should include a capabilities statementand be submitted by Electronic Commerce (EC) to [email protected]. Responses are due within 14 days. This notice is for informational purposes only and no solicitation will be issued as a result of this market survey. See Numbered Note 25. POC is: Mr. Russell Hill, Project Manager, (973)724-2236, US Army ARDEC, AMSTA-R-PC, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000.
