This procurement is to obtain a service contract to provide Biochemical expertise to: 1.) measure concentration dependent rates of dethiolation in Wild TYOE and various mutants and naturally mutant forms of human Glutaredoxin; 2.) measure rates of formation and breakdown of the GRx-SSG intermdiates activity of the GRx Isozymes; 3.) measure specific contents and specific activity of the GRx ; 4.)all determinations performed enough times so that the standard error does not exceed 10% of the mean; for the Research Department at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106. The period of performance is 08/01/06 thru 07/31/07. University of Chicago is the only responsible source that can satisfy the governments need. The proposed contract is firm fixed price. The intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all quotes received within 10 days after the publication on this special notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is SOLEY within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered SOLEY for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
