SDO SOLAR ARRAY PANELS (RFP # NNG05100674R) NASAâs Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for space flight qualified Solar Array Panels in support of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) Project. The scope of work for this procurement shall include the design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of two (2) Solar Panels, one (1) Qualification Panel, one (1) Hot Temperature Test Box, one (1) String Illuminator, and miscellaneous, associated hardware, such as connectors, savers, cells, and repair parts. NASA GSFC will provide as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), two (2) Solar Array Panel Substrates, one (1) Qualification Panel Substrate, one (1) Qualification Panel and two (2) Flight Panel Connectors with Sockets, and two (2) Qualification Panel and two (2) Flight Panel Platinum Resistance Thermometers (PRTs). All work shall be accomplished in accordance with Specification 464- PWR-SPEC-0110, entitled âSpecification for the Solar Array Panels and Qualification Panel for the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) Projectâ and Statement of Work (SOW) 464-PWR-LEGL-0061, entitled âStatement of Work for the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) Project Solar Array Panels and Qualification Panel.â The Specification and SOW will be provided with issuance of the RFP. This procurement will be a full and open competition under FAR Subpart 15.3, âSource Selectionâ, and NASA FAR Supplement Subpart 1815.3, âSource Selectionâ. NASA GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for the Solar Array Panels with an anticipated award date on or about December 31, 2005. The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12.
