The National Imagery and Mapping Agency intends to award on a sole source basis, a contract to the Parsons Institute for Information Mapping - New School University(PII/NSU) for the research, review and extension of NIMA projects and to support fundamental visualization concepts for telepresence and training within NIMA.The Parsons Institute for Information Mapping (PIIM), New School University (NSU) will bring significant and unique understanding of visualization techniques and technologies to NIMA. PIIM/NSU will bring enhanced analysis and design capability in the analysis and enhancement of NIMA projects that have reached completion under the ARDA GI2Viz program and other projects that are internal to NIMA. PIIM/NSU will apply their background in cognitive, visualization and computer sciences to further extend such projects for the Department of Defense(DOD) intel communities. Thus, PIIM/NSU will serve as an "incubator" for new visualization techniques that can be directly applied to known areas of deficiency within the broader DOD/Intel communities. Interested parties have 15 calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit their qualifications/capabilities. Such documentation will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a full and open basis.
