The PHL purchased an Abbott Alinity-i for the serology testing of SARS-CoV-2. This instrument also has the capacity to run a Treponemal-specific assay that serves to confirm a Syphilis infection when tested alongside an RPR assay. Furthermore, the Alinity-i has the capability to run a HIV screening assay that will give a qualitative result for HIV Ag and Ab which will assist the STI lab with confirmations of HIV infections.
