2. Capacity to combine high pressure (1,500 psi or so) and high temperature to increase the efficiency of solvent extraction.
3. Must provide automation capabilities to process all the samples in the tray (24 or so), consecutively and without extra labor input.
5. Capability to use three solvents so that samples can be extracted sequentially with a different solvent, as needed.
6. Extraction cells need to be chemically inert and compatible with organic and aqueous solvents at acidic or basic pH.
7. Must provide in-line filtration so that one solvent is extracted from the sample, but sample remains available to be extracted by a second (and third) solvent.
8. System must accommodate extraction cells of different sizes to allow extraction of different sample weights (1-100 grams).
