ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID The SCHOOL ASSOCIATION FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION IN DUPAGE COUNTY (SASED) Administrative Offices, 2900 Ogden Avenue, Lisle, Illinois 60532, will receive sealed bids for: 2022 MAINTENANCE WORK AT SOUTHEAST ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROJECT NO. 21142 The Bid Opening will be on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the SASED Administrative Offices. At this time the Bids will be publicly opened and read. A Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract will be required. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law. It is the policy of SCHOOL ASSOCIATION FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION IN DUPAGE COUNTY (SASED) to provide equal opportunity to all qualified business in the awarding of contracts and accordingly promotes the utilization of diversified businesses to the maximum extent feasible in any contract issued against this solicitation to bid. There will be a Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and Walk-through for all interested bidders. Any bidder submitting a bid on this project must attend this meeting. Location and time are as follows: Location: SASED Southeast Alternative School - 6 S 331 Cornwall Road - Naperville, IL 60540 Date: Friday, March 4, 2022 Time: 9:00-9:30 AM The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or accept the Bid that in its opinion will serve its best interest. Any such decision shall be considered final. The Owner reserves the right to set aside a Bid from a Contractor who, in the Owner's opinion, does not exhibit past experience equal to the size and scope of this project. PREVAILING WAGE LAW: This Contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the current "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus amount for fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. The Department publishes the prevailing wage rates on its website at: https://www2.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/ CONMED/Pages/Rates.aspx The Department revises the prevailing wage rates and the contractor/subcontractor has an obligation to check the Department's web site for revisions to prevailing wage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website. All contractors and sub-contractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties.
