ADVERTISEMENT FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION AND NOTIFICATION OF BID FOR VILL PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT 45 ADDITIONS, RENOVATIONS AND NEW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER VILLA PARK, IL BID RELEASE 5 Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Board of Education of Villa Park School District 45, is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Villa Park School District 45 - Additions, Renovations and New Early Childhood Center. The project Consist of renovations at three (3) existing schools. All other buildings have been previously bid and awarded. The remaining three schools include: SCHAFER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (BP 06H): Work at Schafer E.S. will include a new entrance vestibule, including transaction window, new casework in the school office, selective demolition in existing classrooms, new classroom finishes, new marker boards, new classroom video screens, new bathrooms in the kindergarten areas, and security upgrades to the building. YORK CENTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (BP 06H): Work at York Center E.S. will include a new transaction window, selective demolition in existing classrooms, new classroom finishes, new marker boards, new classroom video screens and security upgrades to the building STEVENSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (BP 06I): Work at Stevenson E.S. will include a new entrance vestibule, including transaction window, CMU infill at former opening, selective demolition in existing classrooms, new classroom finishes, new marker boards, new classroom video screens and security upgrades to the building. Also included will be the installation of site lighting. The main sitework will be issued as part of Bid Release 6, to be issued in November 2021. BID RELEASE 5 - BID PACKAGE BP# Description 06H General Trades Work - Schafer & York Center Elementary School 06I General Trades Work - Stevenson Elementary School The bid documents will be distributed to pre-qualified bidders on or about Wednesday, October 27, 2021. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. local time via online Teams meeting. An individual site visit may be scheduled separately date and time to be issued via supplement. NOTE: Face covering, and proper PPE is required to visit the site. No-one will be allowed onsite without a face covering or PPE. The last day for bidders' questions will be Monday, November 15, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. The proposals will be due on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. local time via bidder's prequalification account at www.ibidpro.com. To bid this project, bidders must be qualified by Gilbane Building Company. The prequalification application is to be completed online at www.ibidpro.com. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS INVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE BIDDER". This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website at: https://www2.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/CONMED/Pages/Rates.aspx. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties. The Board of Education of Villa Park School District 45 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder. Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened.
