PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION
This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the ETRS Release Ring used on the AGM-86 Missile. The ETRS Release Ring consists of a nine inch aluminum ring with attachment flanges and two adapters for insertion of initiators. Igniter mount and expansion tube of ring contains actuating explosive. The function of the ETRS is to separate desiccant canister unit from exhaust nozzle of missile. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKB, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements.

No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Goodrich Corporation, Fairfield, CA and Pacific Scientific, Hollister, CA has the capability and drawings for the ETRS Release Rings and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 23 November 2011.
