Amatrol Mechatronics Equipment The Department of Corrections (DOC), is requesting an amendment to Governor’s waiver (RPA KSB8340, Case # TE0616) for the purchase of Amatrol Mechatronics Equipment from Lab Midwest. The amendment will enable DOC to obtain additional necessary equipment to operate an Industrial Maintenance Mechanics Program (IMM) at Red Granite Correctional Institution (RGCI) and a Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Training regimen at multiple Department of Adult Institutions (DAI) facilities. The original waiver was requested for a three-year period not to exceed $320,511. DOC exhausted that amount in FY21 by utilizing available grant funding. DOC is requesting an increase of $179,489 to bring the total waiver amount to $500,000. The additional waiver amount will be used to purchase equipment for RGCI and Stanley Correctional Institution (SCI), per the attached quotes totaling $115,640. The remaining amount requested ($63,849) is the estimated amount needed to start up two additional programs at different facilities.
