The contractor shall provide engineering services to resolve Obsolete Part and Vanishing Vendor issues with the NSN 5865-01-287-6182EW, LRU-3C of the AN/ALR-56C System, and significantly improve the system availability of the LRU-3C.  Reliability, maintainability, supportability, and produce-ability combine to determine the system availability a system can achieve.  An item that has a high level of Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), is producible, and is supportable, should achieve a high level of operational availability. The contractor shall design, document, fabricate and test LRU-3C form, fit, and function prototypes (5 each) that exhibit improved system availability and system performance better than the existing LRU-3C.  This requirement will be sole source to BAE Corporation, 100 Campus Road, Totowa NJ 07512-1213, CAGE code 81413, , under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(C) (1), Justification: "Supplies or services are available from only one or a limited number of sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements ". This order will be for a basic 24 month period.  This task will not be solicited publicly.  All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.  Security clearance will be required of all bidders/offerors.  All interested parties should contact the buyer/PCO identified herein for additional information.  Numbered notes 22 & 26 apply.
