INTRODUCTION
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD announces its intention to retrofit and deliver fully functioning Weapons Replaceable Assembly (WRAs) identified as nonfunctional following baseline testing during the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6279 upgrade performed at the Original Equipment Manufacturer, This effort is in support of the AN/APG-79 Active Electronic Scanned Array (AESA) Radar system.
THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible small business firms capable of providing the services described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Each order will be synopsized on the FedBizOps website as applicable in FAR 5.201(b).
ELIGIBILITY
The PSC for this requirement is 1680; the NAICS is 336413 with a size standard of 1500 employees. All interested businesses are encouraged to respond.
ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
The anticipated period of performance is 18 months. The anticipated start date is 30 September 2017.
ANTICIPATED CONTRACT TYPE
The contract type is anticipated to be Firm Fixed Price (FFP).
PROGRAM BACKGROUND
ECP 6279 funding includes retrofitting four out of thirty WRAs from the AN/APG-79(V)1 Configuration "A" to the AN/APG-79A(V)1 Configuration "B" system. These WRAs are required for ECP 6279 retrofit radars to be functional and meet Fleet operational requirements.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
The USN has procured the design, development, integration, test (laboratory and flight) and verification of several improvements to the AN/APG-79 Active Electronic Scanned Array (AESA) Radar system. Collectively these improvements are referred to as the Radar Producibility Enhancement (ECP 6279) and represent part of continuing growth and evolution of the AN/APG-79 Radar.
INCUMBENT
This is a follow-on requirement. The incumbent contractor is: The Raytheon Company, 2000 E. El Segundo Blvd., El Segundo CA, 90245-3507.
