NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE -

ANSYS, INC 

Synopsis:

ICC-West Point intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13-106-1(b)(1)(i), "Only one responsible source" based on the company being the sole developer and provider of the products and is therefore the only source capable of satisfying the Government requirements. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Ansys, Inc. 2600 ANSYS Drive, Canonsburg, PA 15317 for:

ANSYS Academic Research CFD (5 tasks) - Lease
ANSYS Academic Research HPC (per core) - Lease

This item will be used in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering for testing software. With access to a local version of the ANSYS CFD products, CME faculty and cadets will have constant access to the software and will be able to properly configure their simulations without the time lag associated with remote operation. Furthermore, users will be able to test their configuration before submitting it to wait in the supercomputer queue.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
