The Salt Barn is located at the Township Highway Department, 933 Bartlett Avenue. This project includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: Building Demolition, Earth Excavation, Storm Sewer Improvements, Aggregate Subgrade Improvements, Hot-Mix Asphalt Paving, Installation of proposed Salt Barn with associated Architectural and Mechanical Improvements, site restoration, and other appurtenant improvements described in the Bidding Documents. This work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. 820 ILCS 130/0/01 et seq. and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. 820 ILCS 265/1 et seq relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86799 and 86693. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check in the amount of TEN (10) percent of the total bid amount made payable to the Antioch Township Highway Department and shall accompany the bid. The Antioch Township Highway Department reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the Township. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior Township projects, if any, in the judgment of the Township Board and Township staff. All proposals submitted shall be valid for a period of 60 days. The Antioch Township Highway Commissioner will evaluate the bids upon receipt. We anticipate Award of the Contract will occur prior to May 31,2 021. Construction is anticipated to start within 10 days of the contract execution and be completed by August 13, 2021.
