The National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) provides technical and administrative support on behalf of the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council. The NSET Subcommittee is the coordinating body for the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI).

The proposed action is a modification against Order NSFDACS09P1744 with the Asian Technology Information Program (ATIP). Under the order, ATIP provides the NNCO with a subscription service which provides high quality reports concerning technology throughout the pacific rim. The proposed modification will allow the NNCO to procure a nano digest containing timely information on Asian nanotechnology trends and developments and a nano "scoop" or report containing information based on interviews with nanotechnology researchers, policymakers and/or planners. The type of highly specialized information provided from ATIP through these reports is not available from any other source.
