THIS IS SERVES AS A NOTICE OF INTENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 5.203. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District intends to solicit for a construction contract that will include a name brand specification as a component of the overall project, utilizing the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement, which if received timely, will be considered by the agency. Interested firms must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would satisfy the Government's requirements as specified herein. A determination based upon responses to this notice will be made solely at the Government's discretion. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. It is being used as a market research tool only. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this announcement.

Alternative sources may be considered so long as they meet ALL the requirements stated below:
1. Door must be UFGS 08 34 16.20 specification Compliant.
2. Door fabric must meet ASTM 2136 & ASTM E84 testing requirements.
3. Door Design and Components meet (NFPA 220 & NFPA 409) and must be of limited Combustible Construction.
4. Maximum of two belts or cables, running inside the guide rails, are used to transmit motive force to lift the doors.
5. Belts or cables are attached to the bottom beam via safety arrestors.
6. Safety arrestors attach to each end of the bottom beam and travel in the vertical guide tracks.
7. Safety arrestors will immediately stop the downward movement of the door in case of belt I cable failure.
8. Door has Wind Locks located at each jamb, which activate and lock the bottom beam in place when door reaches closed position.
9. Wind Locks utilize Indicator lights on MCP to notify operator that wind locks are engaged.
10. Can perform non-destructive field Safety Arrestor test.
11. Door must be available in Italy for installation as part of a construction project within the calendar year 2019.
