SLAC is seeking industrial suppliers of high peak power, vacuum RF sources developed at SLAC. Production of high power vacuum tube devices requires extensive knowledge of vacuum assembly techniques. In addition it requires substantial specialized infrastructure such as clean assembly, machining and plating facilities, as well as braze furnaces and bakeout ovens. This statement of work addresses evaluation of an industrial manufacturer's capabilities to provide this service. TECHNICAL APPROACH SLAC will supply all component parts of the SLAC designed 2.856 GHz, 65MW 5045 model klystron to the Supplier. The Supplier will assemble the parts per SLAC assembly drawings using practices consistent with high vacuum and high rf power operation. SUPPLIED MATERIALS SLAC will provide all component parts of the SLAC designed 2.856 GHz, 65MW 5045 model klystron to the manufacturer. DELIVERABLES The vendor will deliver one assembled, vacuum processed klystron ready for final dress at SLAC. The klystron will be mated with a solenoid magnet and tested for electrical performance by SLAC. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE.
