The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source firmed fixed price purchase order to Surveillance Data, Inc., 220 West Germantown Pike, Suite 140, Plymouth, MA 19462, for the following: 1) To measure changes in rotavirus activity in the physician office, hospital outpatient and hospital inpatient populations over the past several rotavirus seasons from 2001-2009 and to correlate any observed changes with estimates of Rotavirus vaccine coverages as of January 1, 2009. Also, the vendor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to provide a retrospective age-specific weekly data or rotavirus and all-cause diarrhea hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and outpatient visits from January 2001-June 2009. The vendor will provide an assessment of rotavirus vaccine coverage among different age groups as of January 1, 2009. The vendor shall report all data weekly for the physician offica data and by month for the hospital data covering the time time period of January 2001-June 31, 2009. The data shall include specific diagnosis codes (all diarrhea and rotavirus-related ICD9 codes) relevant to the analysis. All data shall be certified HIPAA-compliant with patients being assigned a unique deidentifier. CDC believes that this requirement can best be provided by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy the Agency's requirements. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
