The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following Aeronautic/Space Studies: a research project directed at enhancing mixing in super sonic combustion ramjets. The technologies to be investigated include: a) the use of resonant acoustic cavities to generate coherent vorticity and b) the use of localized oxygen injection for flame holding. The mixing enhancement studies are limited to supersonic flows. This requirement is sole sourced to the Department of Aerospace Engineering University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742 for expertise in sub- and super-sonic active combustion control. Any firms believing that they can provide this service, may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice. It must clearly show the firmââ¬â¢s ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the data without causing programmatic hardship.
