This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA National Marine Fisheries Science Center (NMFSC), Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to conduct passive acoustic monitoring of killer whales and other cetaceans in areas outside of Puget Sound. The vendor SHALL: 1. provide up to 5 acoustic recording devices capable of recording killer whales and other cetaceans, 2. be responsible for deploying and recovering the recording devices using mooring release system that allows recovery of any anchors, and 3. analyze, summarize and report on data from each of the acoustic recording devices. A firm fixed price purchase order will be issued with performance start date of Aug 15, 2006 and end date of Dec 15, 2007. A request for quotation providing a detailed statement of work will be issued on or about July 20, 2006. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov.
