Objectives: The project objectives are to provide a post-fire assessment of lichen biodeterioration of petroglyphs. Conduct the initial fieldwork during 2003 and follow-up fieldwork one year later to monitor and evaluate the changes in lichen and petroglyph conditions. Prepare and submit final report detailing results and recommendations of the 2003 study by December 31, 2003 and a final report for the 2004 fieldwork by December 31, 2004. Deliverables also include a set of photographs which document the current condition of the lichen communities on the fire affected panels which will serve as a baseline data for future monitoring, to be delivered with the final December 31, 2004 report.
