SLAC Building 26 Partial Roof Replacement
This project is to replace a portion of the existing roof at SLAC Building 026.
The subcontractor will provide all materials, equipment, tools, project management, and labor to remove the existing roofing and insulation and replace with new insulation, coverboard, flashings and a 3-ply Burmastic Composite Ply HT roofing system with a rock surface. The size of the area to be replaced is approximately 26,000 square feet at an elevation of approximately 26 feet off the ground. Some samples of the existing roofing mastic contained up to 15% chrysotile asbestos. The subcontractor shall take appropriate means to maintain the non-friable condition of the removed material, provide workers who are trained in handling asbestos containing material, and the asbestos-containing waste shall be disposed at a SLAC designated facility. The work is required to commence Mid-September and be complete by Mid-October 2017.
