NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 673d Contracting Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, AK intends to award a sole source purchase order to Becton Dickinson Inc:, of San Jose, CA. Becton Dickinson is the only source authorized to provide maintenance and service on Microbiology Bactec FX Analyzer. The Microbiology Bactec FX Analyzer uses patented technology and copyright software to produce diagnostic results required to perform preventive maintenance, calibration and repair (On-site) for the Analyzer Microbiology Model Bactec FX, Serial FT0209, Device 15-973 and ECN 022835.

This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 5.202(a)(13)(i). The anticipated award date is 27 August 2010. Please note, that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the maintenance/ service listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 27 August 2010 at 1:00 PM Alaska Standard Time.

A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive rocurement.
