[email protected] The Work includes Timber pile removal and replacement: Remove and replace 9 fender piles, and secure the new piles to the pier. Remove and replace 4 bearing piles, secure the new piles to their caps. Drive 1 timber pile; requires removal and reinstallation of decking. Timber pile cap repairs: Remove portions of the existing timber caps; replace the removed timber, and secure new timber with c-channel, or flat bar. Other repairs: Other repairs as directed by the representative from the Port of Seattle. The work area is located at Jack Block Park, and has a street address of 2130 Harbor Avenue SW Seattle, WA 98134. Weight Restriction: The concrete plaza just south of the timber pier has an 18,000-lb GVW weight restriction. The Contractor shall coordinate the progress of its Work with the established requirements for completion and phasing described as follows: 1. On site work shall not commence prior to January 2, 2020. 2. All in-water work, as defined by the US Army Corps of Engineers, shall be completed on or before February 15, 2020. 3. All work shall be completed on or before March 31, 2020. The Contractor shall have access to the construction site by water and by city street. When accessing via city street, Contractor shall conduct all business through the gate off Harbor Avenue. The access may change during the construction of the Contract work and Contractor shall comply with the changes or if notified by the Engineer. A. The Contractor shall coordinate and cooperate with other Contractors, Port forces, and others (i.e. public utilities) performing work on this project and shall not impact the work of others. 1. The following described work is to be accomplished by others: a. Port of Seattle crews will remove and straighten approximately 20 LF of damaged railing, at the Northern end of the pier. Port crews will re-install the hand rail after it is straightened. Work will be coordinated with the contractor through the Port of Seattle Representative. 1.02 PORT OF SEATTLE FURNISHED MATERIAL A. The Port will furnish the Contractor with the following material: 1. Treated timber piles a. 10 each, 14-in x 65-ft b. 2 each, 14-in x 75-ft c. 2 each ,14-in x 90-ft 2. Treated timber board a. 8 each, 2-in x12-in x 12-ft, S4S 4. Structural steel elements (ASTM A 36) a. 20 each, MC10 x 8.4 x 8-ft, steel channel, painted b. 1 each, MC10 x8.4 x 20-ft steel channel, painted c. 10 each, 3/8-in x 6-in x 8-ft steel flat bar, painted d. 20 each, 3/8-in x 4-in x 5-ft flat bar, painted 5. Contractorâs Responsibility a. The port furnished materials are currently in production or under procurement. The contractor shall at their own cost, receive, provide storage for, and transport the Port-furnished materials to the work site. b. Upon receiving the Port-furnished items, Contractor shall examine and promptly report to Port the conditions of the material received, including deficiencies, if any. After receiving and taking possession of Port-furnished material, the Contractor shall be responsible for the material until installed, tested, and accepted by the Port. c. Any uncut pieces of lumber or steel shall be returned to the Port of Seattle. d. Any unused bolts, nuts, or washers shall be returned to the Port of Seattle. The contract will be awarded for an estimated amount not to exceed $300,000.00, which includes Washington State Sales Tax. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, materials and incidentals necessary to perform the work as requested by the Port of Seattle via a Work Authorization. All Contractor labor shall be provided as defined by the labor classifications per the Schedule of Unit Prices listed in Document 00 41 00 â Bid Form. The contract will last one (6) months, 180 calendar days, from the official contract award date, which is the date the Port of Seattle signs the Agreement, or until the contract amount is depleted, whichever comes first. A pre-bid meeting will be held September 16, 2019, at 10:00 am, at Port of Seattle, SeaTac Office Center (STOC) 17900 International Blvd. Suite 400B, Sea-Tac, WA 98188 in the Ballard Locks Conference Room. Performance and Payment bonds will be required with the Contract. Each bond shall be in the full amount of the contract sum. No bid bond is required. Labor and Industries require a âStatement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wagesâ and âAffidavit of Wages Paidâ. The expense of such is the responsibility of the Contractor. The Port reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality, to accept any alternate bids, and to make such award that it deems to be in its best interest and pursuant to the terms of the General Conditions. Contract time extends from Execution of the contract through Completion as defined in the General Conditions.
