A teleconference is scheduled for 14 Jan 2009 at 10:00.a.m Please refer to the solicitation for more detailed information. The USDA Forest Service Savannah River has a requirement for bare-root seedlings. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials (except seed – The Government will provide the seed), supplies, equipment, fertilizer, insecticides, herbicides, soil fumigants, and other materials necessary to grow, lift, package, store, and deliver high quality 1-0 longleaf (estimated quantity—550 thousand), loblolly pine (estimated quantity—200 thousand) and/or hardwood (oak) (estimated quantity—6 thousand white oak and 6 thousand red oak) bare-root seedlings for the Government in compliance with specifications. The resulting contract will be an Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity Contract. The effective period of the contract will be for a base period of one year with four option years. The seedlings shall be grown within a 4 hour driving distance of New Ellenton, SC in order to maintain the viability of the seedlings. The size standard is $7 million under NAICS code 113210. This is an unrestricted solicitation. The solicitation will be issued on or about 1 December. Savannah River Site is a restricted access Government facility and vehicle searches are done on all vehicles entering the Site. No contraband items, such as guns, ammunition, drugs etc. are allowed on Site. A picture ID of persons entering the Site is required. A minimum of 72 hours is required to process any security badge requests for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days could be required for non-U.S. citizens. Contractors should pay close attention to the deadlines to submit information required to gain access for site visit included in the solicitation. Offerors must register on the site in order to receive notification of changes to the solicitation. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for release of the solicitation and any subsequent postings.
