Due to the complexity of the AWS, a contractor must have intimate knowledge of all system requirements, weapon specifications, equipment design and interfaces, in order to produce, field and test production units and ancillary equipment. Lockheed Martin MST has been the prime contractor for MMSP and BMD 4.0.1 development efforts as well as the prime contractor for AWS production. LM MST is the only existing source that has the specific production engineering background, extensive integration and test facilities, prior AWS MK 7 experience, and in-depth technical expertise to produce the equipment and provide the efforts that will be procured under the contemplated BOA. Accordingly, the requirements described in this notice will be procured from LM MST under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This announcement is published for informational purposes only. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact LM MST directly.
