The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to award a sole source, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with firm-fixed-price task orders to E. I. Dupont De Nemours and Company, Dupont Qualicon, located in Wilmington, DE 19880. The contract will be a 1-year base with four 1-year option years. The requirement is for the following BAX system reagent kits: D11000133 Salmonella (96 well test kit) D11000157 L. Monocytogenes (96 well test kit) D12404903 E.Coli O157:H7 (96 well test kit) D12683449 Campylobacter (96 well test kit) The BAX system reagent kits are required to perform testing with the existing BAX systems at FSIS laboratories. The BAX system reagent kits will be ordered on an as needed basis. The award of this procurement is subject to FAR 52.232-18, Availability of Funds (Apr 1984). The BAX system reagent kits are proprietary to E. I. Dupont De Nemours and Company, Dupont Qualicon. E. I. Dupont De Nemours and Company, Dupont Qualicon is the only known source which can provide these kits. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302.1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253( c ) (1). This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of this solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be conisdered by the agency. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm's capability to provide the proprietary Bax system reagent kits listed above. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Announcement FSIS-15-B-10. If after July 29, 2010, no viable responses have been received in response to this announcement, USDA/FSIS shall negotiate solely with E. I. Dupont De Nemours and Company, Dupont Qualicon. Â
