The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) intends to procure BCE IV FACSAria 120V VENT TO ROOM W/CAR an other than full and open competition basis for BD Biosciences, 2350 Qume Drive, San Jose, CA 95131.   1) BCE IV FACSAria 120V VENT TO ROOM W/CAR, QTY 1 ea, Cat # 657021 00382906570215, 2) BD FACSAria Special Order Fluidics (Opt), QTY 1 ea, cat #340567.  BD Biosciences is the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements because the purchase of this Biosafety hood enclosure is an upgrade for a Becton, Dickinson (BD) FACS Aria II instrument that the LMM already owns. BD in cooperation with The Baker Company is the sole provider for the necessary upgrade to provide biosafety containment specific to the instrument. The Baker BioProtect IV #657021 is a custom-designed biocontainment enclosure for the BD FACS Aria. This purchase also includes installation charges and a fluidics upgrade for compatibility.  This is not a request for proposal.  All responsible sources who have the technical capability to supply these reagents and past performance, submit a response that will be considered.  The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether to this requirement is available for competition. Responses must be submitted no later than 12:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Monday 11 Aug, 2014.
