United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, Property & Procurement Services (PPS) CSA 2 East Zone intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under the number 12444021Q0017. The resultant contract, if any, will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract.

Twenty Six (26) Bear Proof Dumpster 6-Yard Front End Loader

Dumpster Specification:

Dumpsters must be bear proof.

Must be able to fulfill order and deliver dumpsters prior to February 1, 2022.

Manufactured from 12 gauge steel and available in 6 cubic yard size.

Must be compatible with front end loader trash trucks.

Have double access doors secured with a bear-resistant paddle latch, which allows for personal trash disposal. Unloading lid that is unlatched by a gravity latch during the dumping operation. The Gravity Latching Mechanism has a hook that is on a pivot.

When the dumpster is lifted and rotated forward, the hook can pivot away from the pin and allow the door to swing open. When the bear proof dumpster is set down the hook slides over the pin and engages to secure the lid in place.

A hook and pin setup on each side of the bear resistant dumpster, making it a cooperative 2-person operation to open manually if so desired. The hook/pins are slightly recessed for added resistance.

The Government anticipates issuing this solicitation as a 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332439 Other Metal Container Manufacturing with a Small business size standard of 500 Employees.

The anticipated contract period will be Seven (7) Months from Date of Award.

The closing date and time for submission of offers shall be contained in the solicitation package. The entire solicitation package shall be made available on the SAM.gov Contract Opportunities Web Site at https://sam.gov/. Requests for copies of the solicitation package, or any cumulative parts thereof, by any other means shall not be honored.

Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring the sam.gov website for the release of the solicitation package which is estimated to be posted on or about 09 August 2021.

All firms wishing to submit a quotation to the solicitation, must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database (https://sam.gov/) or risk their otherwise timely quotation being considered non-responsive regardless of its completeness, timeliness or other salient considerations. No response to this announcement is required or requested. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this announcement. The solicitation subsequent to this announcement may be cancelled at any time without warning.
