The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Global Life Sciences Solutions USA LLC for the purchase and extended warranty for the Biacore X100 System.
Global Life manufactures the instrument and is the only vendor who offers the extended warranty. Global Life is part of Cytiva Life Sciences.
The contractor shall provide the Combination Biacore X100 System, mini PC, white glove delivery service and 60 month warranty.
Base Year, Task 1. Supply of Biacore X100 System with mini PC. Includes the base Biacore X100 system with a mini PC for instrument control. White glove delivery service. Delivery of the Biacore X100 System and mini PC using white glove delivery service to it’s destination in an ERDC-EL laboratory.
Base Year, Task 2. Maintenance agreement for the Biacore X100. 60 month total extended warranty. Includes 48 month extended warranty after the initial 1 year manufacturer’s (Cytiva) warranty. Warranty package includes 5 Preventive Maintenance services (1 per year), 3-5 day response time, remote support, hardware and software updates, and all labor, parts and technician travel. Note: the extended warranty offered by Cytiva/Global Life Sciences Solutions USA, LLC can only be purchased at the time of instrument purchase and is a full coverage warranty versus only manufacturing defects coverage. All service shall be performed by a Cytiva certified technician. Includes the initial 1st year manufacturer’s (Cytiva) warranty to cover 3-5 day response time, one preventive maintenance service, remote support, hardware and software updates, and all labor, parts and technician travel. All service shall be performed by a Cytiva certified technician.
The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1000 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including price, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar service. All capability statements received by the closing date of the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
