This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement.  The objectives of this contract are to provide laboratory sample processing, field sample collection, and data management services to researchers at ABL's Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute (TSMRI). Laboratory services will include processing juvenile salmon, forage fish, and other fish samples for size measurements, tissue collection (otoliths, genetics, scales, stomachs, etc.), tag removal and decoding, diet analysis, and calorimetry; field services will include preparing for and participating in biological sample and data collections during ecosystem monitoring on vessel surveys; and data management services will include recording both laboratory and field data into organized notebooks and entering data in electronic databases.

 All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
