The US Forest Service, Chugach National Forest, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to provide all personnel, supervision, materials, transportation and incidentals required to (1) Conduct nutritional analyses of summer and winter moose forages in the Seward and Glacier Ranger Districts in 2009-2010, (2) Develop efficient methods of measuring available biomass of moose browse on the Seward Ranger District study areas, and (3) provide aerial photographs (color and infrared) of the habitat treatment sites in the Fall 2009. The data collected will be entered into the FRESH moose habitat model. This project is a continuation of collaborative work between the Forest Service and Alaska Department of Fish and Game with regards to moose habitat capability projects. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has the foremost responsibility and authority for the management of wildlife species in the State of Alaska. Total estimated value of the purchase order is $32,568. No package is available for competitive proposals, however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement no later than 2 pm, 24 July 09.
