This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is FM442783380007; this solicitation is a request for quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-29, Defense DCN 20081124, and AFAC 2008-0605. This acquisition will be sole source; the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112. The business size standard is 500 employees. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 6515. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3841.

Travis AFB intends to award a sole source purchase order for Biomet Oxford Unicompartment Knee Instruments and Implants to Biomet Inc. These instruments are needed for a surgery on 15 Dec 08. Failure to obtain the instruments from Biomet could lead to unfamiliarity with the surgical equipment, potentially leading to unsuccessful outcomes and/or complications during recovery. Items are to be shipped to Travis AFB, CA, 94535. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.

Award shall be made in the aggregate, all or none.
