The Federal Government has a requirement for a Performance-Based Service Contract for Trail Opening for the USDA Forest Service, Bitterroot National Forest. Peformance-Based means the Contractor is responsible for an end product. If an end product is not provided in compliance with the contract specifications, an adjustment to the payment will be made.
The work involves performing Trail Opening on Wilderness trails throughout the Idaho portion of the Bitterroot National Forest and/or trails throughout the Montana portion of the Bitterroot National Forest.. The type of work includes: “Logging Out” all downed or leaning trees within the clearing limits; “Loose Rock Removal” of all rocks larger than 6 inches from the trail tread; and “Drainage Clearing” of all drainage structures made out of log or rock. Trail Opening standards, specifications and performance requirements are detailed below. Contractors are required to complete work to meet these specifications and performance requirements as explained in solicitation.
