This action is the creation of a bridge contract for the SEC's Blackberry services. The effective date of the bridge contract is October 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010, with an estimated dollar value of $505,579.85. As a bridge effort, this contract will allow continued Blackberry services while a new competitive procurement is solicited and awarded, which is currently in process. Services include voice services and unlimited data services for 1692 handheld devices.
The Securities and Exchange Commission currently employs AT&T voice and data services for its Blackberry devices. As the incumbent contractor, AT&T is the only contractor with resources and circuits in place to provide these services until requirements can be competed, ensuring no break in services.
Justification and Approval is attached.
