The Bureau of Engraving & Printing intends to procure the following blades from Industrial Knife Company on a sole source basis.  These blades are repair parts for the WCF Super Orlof Presses.  The descriptions are as follows:

1.  FIRST BLADE; 860MM (=0, -1625MM) LONG X 50MM WIDE, X .508MM THICK. UHB BLUE POLISHED SPRING STEEL WITH ROUND BLUE SMOOTH EDGES, HARDENED & TEMPERED. EDGE TO BE STRAIGHT WITHIN .051MM OVER ENTIRE LENGTH WITH NO NICKS & BURRS.

2.  DRY BLADE;  936MM (=0, -.03125MM) LONG, X 50MM WIDE, X .300MM THICK.  UHB BLUE POLISHED SPRING STEEL WITH ROUND BLUE SMOOTH EDGES, HARDENED & TEMPERED. EDGE TO BE STRAIGHT WITHIN .051MM OVER ENTIRE LENGTH WITH NO NICKS & BURRS.

3.  SECOND BLADE; 865MM(=0, -.381MM LONG, X 30MM WIDE, X .381MM THICK. UHB BLUE POLISHED SPRING STEEL WITH ROUND BLUE SMOOTH EDGES, HARDENED & TEMPERED. EDGE TO BE STRAIGHT WITHIN .051MM OVER ENTIRE LENGTH WITH NO NICK & BURRS.

4.  WASH UP BLADE;  855MM (=0, -.381MM) LONG, 35MM WIDE, X .150MM THICK. BRIGHT FINISH CHROME WITH A SQUARE EDGE,M HARDENED & TEMPERED. EDGE TO BE STRAIGHT WITHIN .051MM OVER THE ENTIRE LENGTH WITH NO NICKS & BURRS.

This procurement action is for supplies in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Far 6.301 and 13.10601.  See numbered notes 22.  The resulting purchase order will not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.  The procedures set forth in FAR part 12 and 13.106-3 shall be used.
