Special Notice of Intent to Award Brand Name Broadcast Journalism Kits:
The 2d Contracting Squadron at Barksdale AFB LA intends to award a Brand Name Specific, Firm Fixed Price Contract for the supplies listed below as authorized by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) & 13.501(a)(1)(iv). This requirement was originally solicited on GSA, however is currently unavailable under any schedules. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Multiple awards will not be considered for this procurement.

The Government intends to procure the following:

The 2d Bomb Wing's current Sony Broadcast Journalism system has a value in excess of $100,000. It is essential to purchase only Sony equipment to meet the Government's requirement to replace and update old Sony equipment. Broadcast-journalists only have to learn one system, same source for spare parts and faster support. The equipment will replace the old and worn Sony equipment that is currently being used by the broadcast-journalists. Failure to replace would hinder our broadcast-journalist's ability to support base events and document crime scenes/base exercises. Mission success will take a huge hit and base morale will suffer if we are unable to receive adequate equipment to support base events.

The anticipated award date is after 23 September 2016. This is a request for brand name specific competitive quotes and a contract award will be made IAW FAR 13.106-2 Evaluation of Quotations or Offers in response to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quote received. The due date for quotes is at 4:00 PM CST on 23 September 2016.

The Government will not pay for information received. The NAICS Code is 334310 and the size standard is 750 employees.
