The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking the services of a Contractor to complete the design and construction for the structural rehabilitation of various work items on 21 bridges and aerial structures throughout the WMATA system. Major work items consist of pier cap retrofit, expansion joint replacement, anchor bolt replacement, concrete repair, protective coating of concrete and steel, safety walk & handrail replacement, bearing replacement, weld repair, replace fencing, and drain cleaning. A Best Value Design Build procurement will be used to deliver this project. WMATA will award a single contract for design and construction of all project requirements to a single Design Build Team. A site visit (not mandatory) will be planned for February 2022 (specific date will be coordinated by WMATA and included in the RFP; likely during non-revenue hours). No more than two members of each team will be allowed to participate. Each participant will be required to have a WMATA ID and have successfully completed Roadway Worker Protection Training prior to attending the site visit. Please submit the names, contact information, WMATA badge identification number, and roadway worker protection (RWP) certification expiration dates or up to two representatives from your team to WMATA¿s Contracting Officer, Mr. Robert Dixon at [email protected]. Please advise Mr. Dixon if any of the named representatives do not have an active WMATA badge or will require RWP training. The performance period for this project is approximately 24 to 30 months from the issuance of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range for the project is $50 - $65 million. A Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation percentage goal has been established for this project; however, WMATA estimates a DBE goal range between 15% and 25%. The RFP documents are expected to be available on or about February 2022 and will be available on the WMATA Internet web site at: https://www.wmata.com/business/procurement/index.cfm All questions shall be directed to the Contract Administrator, Mr. Robert Dixon, at [email protected].
