US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with Bruker Axs Inc, 5465 E. Cheryl Pkwy. Madison, WI 53711-5373 to provide Repair services for the Bruker S2 Ranger X-Ray Flourescence used on the analysis of pharmaceutical products, forensic sample and trace evidence.

The LSS San Juan Labratory requires repair services on the existing Bruker S2 Ranger.

Bruker is the manufacturer. No one but the manufacturer has the knowledge and expertise to repair this state of the art equipment offering the needed warranty after repair. The XRF equipment is out of service due to failure of its detector. The repair by the manufacturer includes providing the new detector, calibrating and verifying the equipment to ensure it meets specifications.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500.

The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with Bruker Axs Inc. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. An award shall be made to Bruker Daltronics. The anticipated award date is December 19, 2012.
