CITY OF FORNEY REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP 2020-007) The City of Forney is accepting bids for Building Demolition Services (Booker T. Washington Building). Sealed proposals addressed to the City of Forney will be received by the Finance Department, located on the first floor of City Hall at 101 Main Street, Forney Texas 75126, until 2:00 p.m. May 6, 2020. Proposals may be mailed to the City of Forney, P.O. Box 826, Forney TX 75126 or hand-delivered to the first floor of City Hall at 101 E. Main, Forney, Texas 75126. Sealed Bids will be opened at 2:00 PM on May 6, 2020, however; there will be no public opening due to COVID 19. Bidders must submit with their bids a Cashier’s Check or a Certified Check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the maximum amount of the bid payable without recourse to the Owner or a proposal bond in the same amount. The contract award is contingent upon City Council approval at the May 19, 2020, City Council meeting. Proposal envelope must state: Building Demolition Services (Booker T. Washington) Project Scope of Work: Work is located at 702 E. Main Street, Forney, Texas 75126 and includes the demolition of structures, including removal of driveways, sidewalks, fences, and general debris in and around the structures. Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and incidentals and complete all work required for the demolition of buildings, structures, foundations, pavements, fencing, and other aboveground items. Bidders are required to provide all materials, equipment, and labor required for the construction of the project along with a two (2) year Performance and Maintenance Bond in the amount of Contract. The effective date of the maintenance period will commence upon the date of project acceptance by the City of Forney City Council. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish not only a performance bond in the amount of the contract but also a payment bond for the protection of all claimants supplying labor and materials. There will be no public bid opening, bid results will be posted to the following websites.
