The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to release a solicitation for an Integrated Health Services Project in Burundi. The overarching goal of the Integrated Health Project in Burundi is to assist the Government of Burundi (GOB), communities, and civil society to improve the health status of assisted populations in the targeted project areas. The project will build on previous and on-going United States Government (USG) investments, including those made under the Roads to a Healthy Future project, the Burundi Maternal and Child Health Program, and other current partners. The agreement will focus on increasing the use of quality integrated health and support services, underpinned by strengthened health systems and structures. At the end of the project's five years, the Burundian government, civil society organizations, and supported communities will have demonstrably increased capacity to deliver quality integrated health and support services and communications and behavioral interventions. In addition, the Integrated Health Project in Burundi will have contributed to the increased sustainability of project investments in a measurable manner.
