The project is located in the Modoc National Wildlife Refuge (NWR), located in far northeastern California, just outside of the community of Alturas, CA in Modoc County. The project consists of pavement preservation work, gravel rehabilitation on multiple routes, and accessibility improvement at several locations within the refuge.   Construction improvements include pavement preservation (patching, crack sealing, filling and micro surfacing), roadbed reconditioning, aggregate base course, accessible parking stalls, sidewalks and fencing.  .  Construction is anticipated from July 2021 to October 2021.
