This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Item 0001 below is being requested as ‘items unique to the manufacturer' no substitutions will be accepted. This kit is in support of the USMC Combat Camera. The USMC Combat Camera is unique in the Department of Defense in the way it organizes, trains and equips its Marines in the field, training commands and base and stations. A DOTMLPF working group was established in 2000 and one of the first charters was to standardize all Table of Equipment (T/E) that all Marines use as acquisition and production gear. It was determined that it must be of the same brand name model and make and capabilities to ensure that no additional training is required as most if not all personnel are required to deploy on short notice within 30 days upon reporting to their new duty stations. This same equipment is currently being fielded to their Fleet units and this order will fully field the units required for entry level training at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) where prior coordination has already been finalized.
