Andeen-Hagerling, Inc. is the only commercial manufacturer that can provide a standard capacitor with a construction based upon wiring many binary components that add to create the final value achieved. This propriety characteristic is required so that NIST can achieve programmability with resolution less than 1 femto-Farad.

Additionally, NIST currently has designs prepared to develop this unit into a programmable standard for use with the new NIST calculable capacitor bridge system.

Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 8 weeks after receipt of order.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334515, and the size standard is 500 total employees.

No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by May 21, 2012.

A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
