The project consists of installing approximately 3,600 LF of piping from the Carrollton Raw Water Holding Pond to the Carrollton Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Portions of the project include installing approximately 1,750 LF of 24-inch (Inflow) and 1,750 LF of 36-inch (Outflow) Ductile Iron Pipe. The sections of piping across the Little Tallapoosa River will consist of installing approximately 150 LF of 24-inch and 150 LF of 36-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with buoyancy collar structures. The construction will include installing a venturi meter, valves, check valves, air release valves, bends with blocking, and all associated materials and fittings needed to complete the installation. Construction also includes clearing and grubbing as necessary for installation and erosion control (installation, maintenance, and removal), and permanent vegetative stabilization. The project will consist of connection to the City¿s WTP piping system within the project area that are critical to the City¿s infrastructure, so care must be taken by the contractor to coordinate all work with the City and keeping them active or minimize disruptions during construction. The City will provide the pipe, fittings, and associated materials as listed in the special conditions of the bid documents. The contractor will be responsible for all other labor, materials, and installation.
