PARTIAL DEMOLITION AND INTERIOR RENOVATIONS TO PART OF GROUND FLOOR INVITATION FOR BIDS / ADVERTISEMENT The Town of Lexington, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed sub-bids for the renovations to the Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA 02420 in accordance with Contract Documents prepared by Johnson Roberts Associates, Inc., 24 Dane Street, Somerville. Massachusetts. The Cary Memorial Library renovations consist of partial demolition, and interior renovations to part of Ground Floor of existing Library. The renovations include some new partitions, two new toilet rooms, new interior finishes, new HVAC and modifications to Electrical, Technology, Fire Protection and Plumbing systems, minor sitework associated with HVAC equipment in an existing mechanical pit. The Owner will occupy the building during construction and the Contractor will have designated access to the project site. Sealed bids shall be submitted on a form furnished by the Awarding Authority and clearly identified as a bid, endorsed with the name and address of the bidder, and the name of the project, and submitted to: Cary Memorial Library - Construction Bid Lexington Project No. #25-19 Lexington Town Hall - Purchasing Dept. 1625 Massachusetts Avenue Lexington, MA 02420 and received no later than the times set forth herein, when they will be publicly opened and read aloud in a room at this location. All bids may be mailed or hand-delivered to the above specified receiving address prior to the time specified hereunder, in accordance with the procedures set forth in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The General Contractor shall be DCAMM certified. Johnson Co 15 Tremont Place Boston, MA 02108 617-742-1610 Estimated Construction Cost of $4,650,000 A pre-bid walk-through will be held on June 6, 2024 at 8:00 AM, local time at the project site, 1874 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA 02420. Attendance is voluntary but encouraged. There is a plan deposit of $150.00 per set (maximum 2 sets) made payable to the Town of Lexington. Deposits must be in the form of a certified or cashier's check. The deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general contractors and one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the awarding authority. Bidders requesting documents to be mailed, shall include a separate check, (company, certified, or money order) made out to Andrew T. Johnson Co in the amount of $40.00 for UPS Ground service.
