Charlotte Area Transit (CATS) is requesting vendors to provide services for major repair on buses. Repairs are including but not limited to the following: 3.1.1. Supply all parts, labor, and towing from CATS location, travel to vendor’s site, performance of the body repairs and return to the CATS location in full operating condition. 3.1.2. All parts used for repairs shall be new, meaning the parts, components and/or assemblies have not been used or installed previously, unless such parts are approved by CATS in writing. All parts shall be OEM unless such parts are approved by CATS in writing. All parts shall fit and function properly. 3.1.3. All repair work shall be completed in order to meet all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). 3.1.4. The vendor shall identify their proposed facility location, hours of operation, “key” contacts along with phone numbers and e-mail addresses of all who will be available during the vendor’s business hours. 3.1.5. The vendor shall supply a production plan and a timeline for each repair job which will include threshold dates and delivery date back to CATS. 3.1.6. The vendor shall have sufficient quality control procedures in place. A copy of the quality control procedures shall be part of the proposal. 3.1.7. Replace all damaged bus rims and tires. 3.1.8. Inspect bus suspension and undercarriage (front and rear) for any possible damage. Replace any damaged parts found back with OEM parts. 3.1.9. When all repairs are completed bus needs to be road tested to ensure everting is working properly with no fluid leaks and ensure bus tracks straight.
