NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT General: The National Park Service, Department of Interior, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Martin Professional, Inc., 700 Sawgrass Corp. Pkwy., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33325, to acquire the below listed items. The Government believes that the identified contractor is the "only one responsible source" as defined by FAR 6.302-01 (a)(2) for the required items. Firms that believe they can provide the required items described below are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice to the Contracting Officer. Firms believing they can provide the required items must provide supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the stated requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 7 calendar days of the date of Public Posting of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Title of Project: Replace Old and Unsafe Lighting and Electrical in Carlsbad Caverns Description: Purchase of custom LED light fixtures. Fixtures to be comprised of different light throw lengths and 3 color components. Purchasing of over 1,200 custom LED light fixtures and associated components for the relighting of Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. The fixtures chosen and approved are of LED source and will be used as the primary illumination device for the cave resource, both directly and indirectly. The LED will be controlled using an industry standard protocol. The fixture's materials as well as the construction methods, are impervious to the cave environment, and are fully capable of preventing corrosion and subsequently any maintenance and/or complete replacement of the fixture or device. The fixtures will not allow the cave's 100% humidity to penetrate thru the cable glands and seals that are fitted onto the fixture itself. These fixtures have color distribution which will allow for added depth, dimension, and visual comfort for viewing of the resources. The fixtures have color temperatures and beam strength that meet the requirement to prevent algal growth in the cave, and have capability to self-report their statuses. Type of Procurement: A negotiated sole source firm-fixed price contract is anticipated.
