National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) plans to procure on a sole source basis with Roche Diagnostic Corp, 9115 Hauge Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256-1025.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM), NIDDK Acquisitions Branch The Molecular Medicine Branch requests the purchase of a CedexBio Analyzer. This instrument will be used to measure simultaneously all of the following cell Culture substrates/metabolites for mammalian, yeast and bacterial cell culture and fermentation: Glucose, Lactate, Ammonia, LDH, Glutamate, Glutamine, lgG, Iron, Calcium, Phosphate, Acetate, Glycerol, Total Protein, Pyruvate, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Cholesterol, Galactose, OD Assay and Ethanol.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), Biotechnology Core Laboratory provides production and purification services for scientists at NIDDK and NIH. The benefit received by acquiring this equipment is that the data obtained with the CedexBio Process analyzer will benefit several project by closely monitoring the growth parameters for better process optimization that will result in higher yields.

This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500.

Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type contract.

This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believed they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NIDDK to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. Solicitation must received in the DK Acquisitions Branch on or before 11:00 AM EST on September 2, 2015. Electronic submissions are accepted. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
